The picturesque island of Maamunagau in the Raa Atoll is getting ready for the arrival of UK-born Chef Nelly Robinson, who will be undertaking a culinary residence at the resort from September 1–4, 2023.

Chef Nelly Robinson is the most recent addition to Intercontinental Maldives' expanding list of acclaimed chefs who have visited the island nation in recent years.

Chef Robinson, a well-known figure in the Australian culinary world, has received praise from publications like The Guide Michelin and Gault & Millau for the inventive dishes he creates for his popular Sydney restaurant NEL. His menus reflect his extensive travels, passion, and fond recollections from his youth while showcasing the freshness of regional foods. Gastronomes dining at his eatery can expand their gastronomic journey with each visit because the menu changes every 11 weeks

Chef Robinson established himself in the business at the tender age of 15, when he began working for renowned chef Nigel Haworth at the Michelin-starred Northcote Manor restaurant in the UK. He developed an early appreciation for seasonal and local ingredients, a skill he would use throughout his culinary career. At the age of 22, he was named head chef at Stanley House. After moving to Sydney, Australia when he was 29, he founded "NEL".

Chef Robinson will bring his innovative food to the gorgeous dining location of The Lighthouse of Intercontinental Maldives this autumn. Epicureans may anticipate creative and modern concoctions served in front of the stunning Indian Ocean while he is in residence. Dishes like Kingfish Firebark, Wildfire Spiced Barramundi, or Chef Nelly's original take on Kedgeree will adroitly merge with the ocean-inspired settings of the opulent resort. His acclaimed plates allow plenty of room for expectation and imagination.

In addition to these delights, Chef Robinson will include a number of vegetarian choices on his opulent menu at The Lighthouse. Additionally, visitors may delight their palates with a variety of island-inspired dishes offered as a la carte choices and savour a carefully chosen tasting menu that will satisfy even the pickiest diners.
