The premier resort on the Indian Ocean, Vakkaru Maldives, has announced the hiring of Janice Vigo as the new Director of Spa at the venerable establishment. In her new position, Janice will be in charge of managing all daily activities at the spa, including staff training, treatments, retail, fitness centres, wellness initiatives, and yoga and meditation.
Janice has more than 17 years of experience working in the luxury spa and hospitality industries, and she offers a wealth of knowledge, experience, and skill to her job. After holding a variety of positions in prestigious luxury establishments like One & Only Kanuhura Maldives, Constance Ephelia Seychelles, Fregate Island Private Seychelles by Oetker Collection, and Babylon Warwick Hotel Baghdad where she obtained invaluable knowledge in spa and wellness management. Janice held senior positions at Six Senses Laamu Maldives before joining the team at Vakkaru Maldives.

Janice holds two diplomas in spa management from Raison d'Etre Spa & Wellness Consultancy and two from the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC) in the areas of spa start-up management and oncology massage for cancer. She is also certified in Bentosa Fire Glass Cupping, Bamboo Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Facials, Body Treatments, and Singing Bowls. She has completed 200 hours of RYT Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, and her impressive portfolio now includes employment experience with numerous worldwide spa product brands, including Pevonia Botanica, Shiseido, Subtle Energy, and Organic Pharmacy. Additionally, she is knowledgeable about a variety of spa-related software, which makes her a significant addition to the team.
