Ali Almaas has been promoted to the position of Director of Rooms at the exquisite Vakkaru Maldives ultra-luxury island resort. Almaas, who formerly held the position of Front Office Manager at Vakkaru Maldives, will now take on more responsibility, including managing all housekeeping activities and participating in the Executive Committee.

In March 2019, Almaas began working for Vakkaru Maldives as the Duty Manager. His promotions within the Front of House division alone show that he has consistently shown to be a valuable addition to the resort since that time. He quickly rose through the ranks from Duty Manager to Front Office Manager, a position he carried out with the utmost commitment and expertise at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the many difficulties the pandemic presented at the time, Almaas was crucial in creating a strong front-of-house team.

His colleagues gave him well-deserved praise for his ability to handle challenging situations and his can-do attitude. The favorable ratings and rankings Vakkaru Maldives has received over the past few years are further evidence of Almaas' leadership abilities and dedication to sustaining the highest levels of service. His hardworking team has won multiple interdepartmental medals and attained record-breaking TripAdvisor reviews & rankings under his direction.

With his new position, Almaas will be in charge of overseeing the operations of the Front Office, Guest Services, Butler Services, Recreation, and Kids Club in addition to managing Housekeeping.

“I am excited about the new role and proud to have contributed to making Vakkaru one of the best luxury resorts in the Maldives in the past five years. A heartfelt thanks to the entire management of Vakkaru for supporting me in my professional growth. As I continue this timeless journey with Vakkaru, I will keep focusing on opportunities to further improve the quality and guest experience by having our team members engaged and motivated to exceed guest expectations,” he said.
