The renowned "Best Hotel Sustainability Progress" award was bestowed to Fushifaru Maldives, an opulent boutique resort in Lhaviyani Atoll, during the TUI World Hotel Awards 2023. The award honours the resort's exceptional dedication to sustainability, environmental stewardship, and neighbourhood improvement. The award was presented during the world's largest travel trade event, ITB Fair, in Berlin.
The ITB Fair offers a venue for business professionals to network, present their goods and services, and exchange the most recent market information. It draws exhibitors and attendees from all over the world.
The TUI Global Hotel Awards is an annual ceremony honouring the world's top resorts, hotels, and travel destinations. Fushifaru Maldives has been applauded for its initiatives to lessen its carbon impact, protect marine life, and support the local community A variety of green initiatives have been put into place at Fushifaru, including a project to grow coral, the elimination of plastic bags, the planting of trees, and the promotion of sustainable culinary methods through the use of a chef's garden.
