The InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has promoted Mohamed Hussain Shihab as Cluster Director of Human Resources for two resort properties in the Maldives. He commenced work at his new post at InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort and Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives on the first of March 2023.
He was born in 1989 and, with more than 11 years of experience in the industry, is the youngest Maldivian to be nominated to the position of Cluster Director of Human Resources. Shihab has studied and worked all over the world during his professional career, including the USA, Sri Lanka, and the Middle East, where he held positions with renowned hotel chains including Anantara and IHG.
Before expanding his work to include management of IHG's sister property, the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, Shihab actively assumed the duties of Director of Human Resources at the InterContinental Maldives for two years
Hailing from Male’, he is an avid traveler who succeeds at bringing together teams and employees of many origins and nations by setting an example of how to appreciate diversity and build a strong and resilient team. He also has international education and job experience.
