As its new restaurant, Riviera Tapas & Bar, opens this Easter, Le Meridien Maldives Resort & Spa invites Michelin-starred Chef Begona Rodrigo for an exclusive pop-up.

On April seventh, Chef Begona will launch her culinary program at Le Meridien Maldives. She will lead guests on a culinary tour that includes two beautiful dinners, custom tasting menus, and a night of Petit Plates.

The well-known chef, hailing from Spain, won the inaugural season of Top Chef Spain and was recognized as the finest cook in the Valencian Community. She also serves as the executive chef and proprietor of La Salita, a one-Michelin-star restaurant in Valencia. Chef Begona is currently getting ready to conduct a special pop-up at the resort and bring her culinary skills to the heart of the Indian Ocean. Two formal dinners with distinctive tasting menus and Petit Plates will be held during her residency.

Scallops, sea lettuce, and cream of pine nuts, parsnip carbonara, kimchi, and pork belly, as well as strawberries, yoghurt, yuzu, and ginger, will all be featured on her tasting menu. Chef Begona will also conduct a cooking session where gourmet visitors can discover the techniques for preparing a few decadent dishes like the well-known paella. Along with the thrill of learning from a culinary master, attendees will gain insightful knowledge of the procedure and a wealth of advice on how to advance their culinary skills.

Commenting on the upcoming pop-up, Chef Begona says “I am thrilled to be bringing the cuisine of my homeland to the Maldives and treating diners to dishes packed with Valencian flavours and teaching guests how to cook dishes from the Mediterranean such as the famed paella.”

The vibrant boulevards of Southern Spain served as the inspiration for the recently built beachside restaurant, Riviera Tapas & Bar, which is intended to celebrate lengthy summers. With Petit Plates inspired by Spain's diverse culinary culture, Riviera Tapas & Bar will provide the flavours and smells of Catalonia. From April seven to 10, guests may indulge in six-course tasting menus and other delicious items at Chef Begona's Easter Delights pop-up.
