Gilbert Steiner has joined the luxury resort as the Executive Assistant Manager, as revealed by Diamonds Athuruga Maldives. Gilbert is a seasoned hotelier with vast experience who has been in the hospitality sector for more than 25 years. His extensive professional background includes work in Singapore, French Polynesia, Singapore, Canada, the United States, and the Maldives.

As a chef with European training who worked in Michelin-starred restaurants all around the world, he made his initial impression on the industry. He obtained priceless experience through this, working at Tour D'Argent, a restaurant with three Michelin stars in Paris, a restaurant with two Michelin stars in Denmark and France, as well as the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, Switzerland. Gilbert has worked at high-end hotels and resorts around the world, including international hotel chains and Relais & Chateaux. His career in hospitality has been mainly centred on the Food & Beverage departments.

His first foray into the Maldivian tourism industry was with Sheraton Full Moon Resort and Spa. Gilbert, who has worked his way up the corporate ladder, has played a key role in the opening of numerous hotels in China, including Sheraton, Sofitel, and Movenpick. He is now returning to the Maldives with a new challenge as the Executive Assistant Manager at Diamonds Athuruga Maldives.
