Mohamed El Aghoury has been named the new general manager of the acclaimed five-star Sheraton Maldives Full Moon resort. El Aghoury has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector and has collaborated with numerous prestigious hotelier brands across a range of regions. He will be in charge of managing all operations at the picturesque Sheraton Hotels & Resorts property in the Maldives as he steps into his new position.
In addition to overseeing resort operations, El Aghoury will be in charge of Full Moon's strategic business plans. which aims to strengthen the resort's position in the market and promote the location as a meeting point for people from all over the world. He will lead and motivate the team to continually provide the highest level of service excellence in their job through his adept talents and leadership traits.
El Aghoury started his career in the hotel industry at the Sheraton Montazah Hotel in Alexandria in 1993, and he now has a plethora of knowledge spanning 25 years. 18 years later, in 2011, he accepted his first general manager post, which he went on to fill in a number of prestigious hospitality companies in the UAE. The General Manager positions at the Four Points, Al Sondos Suites by Le Meridien, Meydan Hotel, and Bab Al Shams Desert Resort are among them. He was most recently employed by Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Aloft Palm Jumeirah, where he held the esteemed position of Cluster General Manager, before joining the team at Full Moon.
El Aghoury is the recipient of various honors and titles owed to his great leadership during his career. The two most noteworthy accomplishments include being named to the prestigious Hotelier MEA's Top 50 General Manager Power List in the UAE and taking home the Best General Manager prize at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards. He is also the honored winner of General Manager of the Year at the Hospitality Excellence Awards.
