The enduring haven of Vakkaru Maldives celebrates its fifth year since it first opened its doors in December, giving over 32,000 visitors treasured memories and unforgettable island experiences. Vakkaru Maldives was established on December 17, 2017, and since then, it has advanced significantly from its modest beginnings, earning numerous national and international honours and recognitions.

The Travco Group, led by Egypt's El Chiaty family, is one of the region's top leisure groups, having a portfolio of integrated businesses in the tourism, hospitality, and aviation sectors. The unique facility is the only resort owned by the family in the Maldives. Hamed El Chiaty, the Chairman and CEO of Travco Group, and his son Karim El Chiaty, Vice-Chairman of Travco Group, collaborated closely to conceptualize the resort as a peerless distillation of what their family had pioneered and admired in the luxury hospitality over the course of a lifetime in the travel industry.

As a result, the resort was thoughtfully designed to conserve the lush, natural surroundings while still exuding a classic elegance that was influenced by the beauty of its surroundings. The Dutch company OT Design BV came up with the idea for Vakkaru Maldives, which features 113 roomy, palm-thatched villas and homes scattered across the lagoon or tucked away amid the island's coconut plantation. The design language for the resort was significantly influenced by Dora El Chiaty, the managing director and head of interior design of Travco Group.

These 5 elements have helped Vakkaru Maldives rise to the top of the list of resorts in the area in a relatively short period of time.

Vakkaru Maldives, a stunning reef island surrounded by white powdery beaches and tiffany-blue waters with two deep blue holes flanking on either side, is located within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Baa Atoll. The name "Vakkaru," which in Dhivehi means "coconut timber," was given to the island by the abundance of mature coconut palms that grow there. The breathtaking 30-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport, which completes the ideal picture of a refuge covered in natural beauty with many opportunities for relaxation and reconnecting with nature, is another feature of this idyllic location.

Each lodging's interior incorporates design elements that reflect Maldivian culture and traditions while fusing them with the best local natural resources and architecture in a modern approach to provide intelligent connectivity. Villas have 1 or 2 bedrooms, while residences have more roomy floor plans ranging from 1-2 bedrooms to lovely 4-bedroom Overwater Residences with 2 stories and a private chef. Each lodging provides unobstructed views of the outside world and is outfitted with everything needed for a luxurious trip right inside its walls.

The staff's "Yes We Can" mentality enables them to provide customers with highly individualized service that results in memorable moments and emotional encounters. The success of Vakkaru may be directly due to its dedicated personnel, which ranges from private butlers who attend to all of the needs of guests, culinary teams that try to deliver an amazing dining experience, to spa specialists who are committed to helping guests feel calm.

Visitors are in for a world of exciting activities on the unspoiled island at every turn. The Dive Centre promises a wide range of underwater adventures, while the overwater Merana Spa entices tourists with its vast variety of wellness programs, therapeutic massages, and Siddhalepa Ayurvedic treatments. Additionally, visitors can plan a safari to see the Baa Atoll Big Five or a discovery cruise on the resort's luxurious yacht. Sports fans can also play competitive matches with Tipsarevic Luxury Tennis tennis pros or try padel tennis on the cobalt-blue tennis courts. Aside from that, visitors may anticipate engaging in cultural, culinary, and island-hopping activities as well as the opportunity to reaffirm their vows in front of the breathtaking Indian Ocean.
