The first webinar series to promote the Maldives brand this year was held in Eastern Europe. Over 70 Eastern European tourism industry professionals and two industry partners attended the inaugural session.

Thoyyib Mohamed, the CEO & MD of MMPRC, gave an introduction address to the inaugural webinar in which he emphasized the significance of the partnership between the Maldives and the Eastern European travel industry.

Thoyyib also emphasized the joy of vacationing in the Maldives during the golden jubilee year of the Maldivian tourist industry, as well as the numerous honors and accolades the Maldives has received over the years.

An update on the most recent travel regulations was given after his remarks.

The Maldives' stunning natural beauty, four distinct tourism offerings (resorts, guesthouses, liveaboards, and hotels), and distinctive experiences were all highlighted in a destination presentation given by MMPRC. Among the numerous thrilling, unusual activities marketed were sleeping in a bubble tent on the beach, vacationing in a private water villa, and taking a seaplane ride.

Eastern Europe is one of the major sourcemarkets for the Maldives this year. The Maldives had attracted 60,115 visitors from Eastern Europe as of September 2022.

MMPRC has been holding multiple marketing campaigns targeting Eastern Europe, including joint marketing campaigns with airlines.
