Sun Siyam Resorts, a major tourist brand in the Maldives, announcing the establishment of a creative department, has named Sara Siyam as the director of the company’s newly formed creative department, Claudia Klingbeil as its director of PR & communications, and Shammun Mohamed as its director of digital communications. 

The newly formed Creative Department will be in charge of the expansion of the brand, all facets of branding and visual material, new communications and PR initiatives, the creation of distinctive experiences, and resort-based events. The founders of Sun Siyam Resorts firmly believe in local abilities and have made it their mission to cultivate Maldivian talent in the hospitality sector; as a result, the company has brought in highly talented young and seasoned locals to elevate the brand with the addition of Sara and Shammun to the creative department.

Sara began her employment with Sun Siyam Resorts in 2017 in a group-level PR executive position. She soon advanced to the position of Assistant Manager of PR and Marketing. She began her new position as the PR and Marketing Manager at Siyam World Maldives in November 2020, where she was instrumental in creating the resort's branding, content, PR, and communications strategies. On October 28th, 2021, she worked to launch the brand-new property with the help of her staff.

In her new role as Creative Director at Sun Siyam Resorts, she will establish the group's creative vision and increase brand recognition through PR, ad campaigns, and brand stories, as well as exclusive experiences and events for each of the Sun Siyam locations. Sara will oversee the creative team's implementation of fresh plans and artistic objectives to strengthen the Sun Siyam brand internationally. To put new plans into action, she will also collaborate closely with the Sun Siyam PR and Marketing departments.

Sara earned her Master's in International Tourism and Hospitality from James Cook University in Singapore. She is passionate about whipping up original ideas and events. Her ambitious objective is to make Sun Siyam a one-of-a-kind and distinctive local brand that places an emphasis on creating and delivering distinctive experiences.

Claudia will serve Sun Siyam Resort as a trusted brand and PR advisor in her new position as director of PR & Communications, and she will do so from Spain. Claudia, a native of Germany, is well-traveled, and experienced, having resided and worked in Australia, the United Arab Emirates, the Maldives, and Europe nations. To increase brand recognition, foster relationships with the media, press, and journalists, as well as successfully drive worldwide PR activities and editorial possibilities, she will create and implement PR and communications strategies and direct the global Sun Siyam Resorts PR Agencies.

Claudia is a multifaceted and competent public relations and communications specialist with more than ten years of practical experience in the international tourist, travel, and upscale hospitality sectors. She most recently worked for Sun Siyam Resorts as a Consulting Director of PR & Marketing for the company's groundbreaking new island resort in the Maldives, Siyam World. In addition, while serving as the Cluster Director of Communications for The Small Maldives Island Co., Claudia was a key player in the branding of Huvafen Fushi Maldives and the inauguration of the two luxury islands Amilla Fushi & Finolhu Maldives.

Before she began her work as a freelancer and consultant for several start-ups and international travel, lifestyle, and hospitality brands to aid them in their public relations efforts, Claudia also worked and lived in the United Arab Emirates, holding several PR & Marketing Manager positions at public, private, and corporate sector companies like Radisson Blu or The Abu Dhabi Country Club and Al Maya Resorts.

Shammun Mohamed delivers new levels of creativity and innovation. Shammun graduated from NICC in Bangalore with a degree in mass communication. He began his career as a creative at the neighborhood advertising agency Ahmed Fahud Studio. Shammun has worked at Sun Siyam Resorts as a PR Executive and as the Cluster PR Manager for Sun Siyam Vilu Reef and Sun Siyam Iru Veli. Storytelling and content production is his true calling and passion. As the Director of Digital Communications, Shammun is in charge of creating, managing, and carrying out communications strategies across all digital platforms. He also ensures that all digital experiences provided by Sun Siyam are in line with and support the company's mission, vision, values, brand, reputation, and strategic goals.
