A Maldivian delegation has taken part in the World Heritage Week program held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

On January 24, 2020, the Maldives was on full display with all sorts of traditional activity showcasing the Indian ocean nation's rich heritage as part of the Maldivian Heritage Week. 

Participants of the Maldivian Heritage Week, organized by the Sharjah Heritage Institute, at the World Heritage Weeks program in UAE.

A total of 16 participants including traditional dancers, Bodu Beru groups, jewelry makers, craftsmen including lacquer workers, artists and Maldivian cooks and chefs masterful in traditional cuisine, took part in the event.

The event is held in collaboration with the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and the Maldivian Artist Community with along with the assistance of the Ministry of Arts Culture and Heritage.

The event will be held for five days at the Cultural Heritage Events Center in the Western House, in the heart of Sharjah. The event will transport heritage lovers, researchers, and specialists on a journey throughout the history, geography, and heritage of Maldives, via a variety of activities.
