In 2021 so far, Maldives, the world's leading travel destination, has received more than 30,000 tourists.

According to statistics by the Tourism Ministry, a total of 30,644 tourists were observed in the first ten days of 2020. 

The statistics also show that on the first day of the new year, Maldives received 2,005 tourists, while 4,160 tourists were recorded on the second day. On January 3 a total of 4,195 tourists were received while 2,646 tourists were received on the following day.

Ministry statistics show that the nation received an average of 3,064 tourists per day in 2021 so far. Tourists also spent around 9.8 days in Maldives as per the statistics.

  • Russia: 8,761 tourists
  • India: 3,908 tourists
  • Ukraine: 2,680 tourists
  • Kazakhstan: 1,590 tourists
  • Romania: 1,447 tourists

Since the border reopening after COVID-19, Maldives has also observed significant growth in previously slow makets. Currently, Maldives has 569 tourist facilities with a total bed capacity of 42,072 beds.
