Manta Air has restarted its domestic services once again, with flights from Velana International Airport to its home base in Dhaalu Airport.

The domestic airline suspended services on its ATR 72-600 aircrafts due to lessened demand in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year. However, it continued some special flights via its seaplanes, and also restarted tourist seaplane services when the Maldivian borders reopened in mid-July.

According to Manta Air, the airline will fly four weekly flights from Malé's Velana International Airport and Dhaalu Airport in the island of Kudahuvadhoo. Flight frequencies are to increase with demand.

Dhaalu Atoll is a bustling atoll with well-known and sought-after tourist properties, including Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Niyama Maldives, Kandima Maldives, The St. Regis Vommuli, Angsana Velavaru, Baglioni Maldives, aaaVeee Nature's Paradise and the duo-hotel Riu Atoll and Riu Palace Maldivas.

Manta Air revolutionized the local air travel industry, with a new concept of pre-published flight schedules, airfares for six months, a fixed and publicly available table of airfare, and ensuring comfort aboard its cabins by offering more legroom.
