Huvafen Spa, the world's first and only underwater spa located at Huvafen Fushi Maldives has won a wellness accolade.
Wellness Travel Awards by Organic Spa Magazine named Huvafen Spa a winner under the "Most Unique" category.
Four other spas worldwide were listed as "Most Unique" spas alongside Huvafen Spa. Other winners include spas from the US, Canada, South Africa, and Bali.
Huvafen Fushi's iconic underwater spa, located eight meters under below surface, continues to be the sole underwater wellness experience in the world. The spa's facilities include two underwater couple's treatment rooms with panoramic reef views, four single overwater treatment rooms, two overwater couple's treatment rooms, steam & sauna, and a manicure & pedicure room.
Maldivian resort properties pioneered many of the world's first underwater structures--including the first underwater restaurant and hotel room. Since then, many other resorts followed the trend and built underwater restaurants in the country.
Huvafen Fushi Maldives, located on Nakatchafushi in North Malé Atoll and a 35-minute speedboat ride away from Velana International Airport, is a five-star property with 44 beach villas and overwater bungalows.
After a brief closure due to COVID-19, Huvafen Fushi will open for guests on the 1st of November.
