Maldives will celebrate World Tourism Day 2021 in Addu City, in the south of Maldives.
The Tourism Ministry announced on March 4 that the much-celebrated day would be in Addu City this year. World Tourism Day is September 27.
Addu City, one of the most diverse atolls in Maldives can be dubbed as the perfect selection to hold the festivities of Tourism Day, since it is one of the most geographically beautiful atolls in the entire nation.
The Tourism Ministry said that Addu City Council had taken the initiative on holding the festivities of the day this year. The Ministry also thanked the city council for the initiative.

The theme for WTD 2021 is "Tourism for Inclusive Growth". @UNWTO World Tourism Day is 27th Sep.
Due to the restrictions of the pandemic, in 2020, Tourism Day was not celebrated as colorfully as it usually is in Maldives. However, some activities were conducted in atolls and the nation even broke the world record for free diving.
The theme for this year's tourism day is "Tourism for Inclusive Growth".
