Upcoming wellness resort Joali Being gets a General Manager, Özgür Cengiz.
Joali Being, located on Raa Atoll island of Bodufushi, is the upcoming sister property of Joali Maldives, a luxury resort also located on Raa Atoll's Muruvandhoo island. Joali Maldives is an art-deco resort with ultra-luxury elements, spacious villas and forces guests to embrace the joy of living.
Özgür takes the helm at Joali Being, from his previous position as Resort Director at Joali Maldives.
Özgür has 20 years of experience in luxury hotels, from iconic locations like Ritz Carlton, Istanbul ot Jumeiral. He was trained in Advanced Hotel Revenue Management in e-Cornell University.
Though his career revolves in luxury hotels, Özgür is also an athlete. He holds a Diploma and a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education & Sports Academy from Marmara University in Turkey.
Due to his sporty side and dedication to health and wellness combined with hospitality, he received an added advantage over his industry colleagues with being part of opening Turkey's first wellness resort Richmond Nua Wellness. He also has seven years of experience in leading Turkey's leading leisure group Hillside Beach Club.
Due to his experience in these areas, Özgür was also headhunted for One & Only Reethi Rah Maldives, where he managed the entire wellness and leisure operations.
Joali Being, due to open this year, is the first nature-immersive island retreat in the Maldives, and a first-of-its-kind concept and product.
Recently, Joali Maldives also appointed a new General Manager. Enver Arslan, also a Turkish national, took over Joali Maldives' leadership. Until his promotion. he was Resort Director of the property, overlooking the operational departments for the last four years.
