The leading insurance company of the Maldives, Allied Insurance Company has introduced insurance packages specifically targeted for tourists. 

The main purpose of the packages, were to provide safety and security to travelers and assure tourists that they are taken care of at all times, stated Allied Insurance.

The zoom meeting to introduce the packages were taken part by Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom and Managing Director of Allied Insurance Company Mohamed Shafaaz as well as senior members of the company. 

Allied debuted two separate insurance policies targeted for tourism.

They are:

  • Allied Inbound 
  • Allied Inbound Plus

The packages cover for seven or more days and are to be purchased before arriving in the Maldives. 

What do they cover?

  • Isolation facility expenses
  • Expenses for sea transport to medical facilities during an emergency
  • Expenses for medical care during an emergency
  • Interment expenses

- The Allied Inbound package is priced at USD 25 for seven days with USD 35 for more than seven days.

- The Plus package is priced at USD 35 for seven days with USD 45 for more than seven days. 

The primary difference between the two packages is the limit on transport, facility expenditure, and medical care. 

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Mausoom said that the lack of such a package had caused challenges to the tourism industry.

“When guesthouses reopen on October 15, this is a major relief. For guesthouses and safaris. Because of the insurance policy, it is a major step to furthering tourism,"said Minister Mausoom. 

Speaking about the packages, Managing Director of Allied Insurance Mohamed Shifaaz said that the packages would bring confidence to tourists that the Maldives is a safe nation. He said that the hope was that the packages would encourage more tourist visitors and the betterment of the economy.
